Privacy Policy

The Stope is operated by Schorl Dynamics, LLC. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

• Account data — email address and password hash, if you create an account. Used for authentication and account recovery.
• Game session data — your actions, game state, and outcomes. Stored to provide save/restore, improve the game, and shape the shared game world (see below).
• Analytics — anonymized gameplay events (session start, action types, session end) via PostHog and Supabase. Used to understand how the game is played and identify issues.
• Server logs — IP addresses, timestamps, request paths. Retained for operational troubleshooting and abuse prevention.

How gameplay is processed

Your actions are sent to the Anthropic API to generate narrative responses. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training. We send only what is needed to generate a response: your current action, game state, and relevant context.

Shared game world

The Stope uses anonymized gameplay patterns to shape the game experience across players. Choices, paths, and outcomes from your sessions may influence what other players encounter, and vice versa. Only anonymized behavioral patterns are used for this purpose — never raw text input, personal information, or account data. This is a core part of the game's design.

Where data is stored

The Stope runs on Fly.io infrastructure. Account and session data is stored in Supabase (Postgres). Analytics are processed by PostHog.

Data retention

• Game sessions — retained for the lifetime of your account. Anonymous sessions may be cleaned up after 90 days of inactivity.
• Account data — retained as long as your account is active.
• Server logs — retained for up to 30 days.

Third parties

We share data only with:

• Anthropic — gameplay processing. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Fly.io — infrastructure hosting. Subject to Fly.io's privacy policy.
• Supabase — database hosting. Subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
• PostHog — product analytics. Subject to PostHog's privacy policy.

We do not sell data to anyone.

Cookies

We use PostHog's analytics cookie for anonymous usage tracking. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can request:

• Access — a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Deletion — removal of your account and all associated game data.
• Correction — updates to inaccurate account information.

Children

The Stope is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy. If you have an account, material changes will be communicated via your registered email.
