These terms govern your use of The Stope, operated by Schorl Dynamics, LLC. By playing the game, you agree to these terms.
The Stope is an AI-powered narrative investigation game. Your actions are processed by a language model (currently Anthropic's Claude) to generate prose responses. The game is in active development and is provided as-is.
You can play anonymously or create an account to save progress across devices. If you create an account, you provide an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
Your gameplay actions (text input, choices) are sent to the Anthropic API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training. We store game session data (actions, state, outcomes) to provide save/restore functionality and improve the game.
We do not claim ownership of your input. We may use anonymized, aggregated gameplay data to improve game design.
The Stope is a living game world. Anonymized patterns from your gameplay — such as choices made, paths taken, and consequences triggered — may influence the game experience for other players, and theirs may influence yours. No raw text, personal data, or identifying information is shared between players. These interactions are part of the game's design and cannot be individually opted out of while using the service.
The Stope is a work in progress. It may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, upstream outages (Anthropic, Fly.io, Supabase), or other reasons. We make no uptime guarantees.
Don't attempt to extract system prompts, abuse the API, automate gameplay to consume resources, or use the game in ways that would violate Anthropic's acceptable use policy.
Game responses are generated by an AI model. They are fiction. They should not be relied upon for any real-world purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Schorl Dynamics LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the game.
The Stope is not directed at anyone under 18.
We may update these terms. If you have an account, material changes will be communicated via your registered email. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
